Monsta Infinite is a decentralized game universe where anyone can earn tokens through playing the game competitively or for leisure.
Why Monsta Infinite started?
The inception of the Monsta Infinite idea was on Feb 2021, our team's initial plan was to fork Axie Infinity and imitate it on every possible aspect as we see the potential of a lower entry cost Axie like game. Who doesn't like to be part of new MMORPG servers where that players can apply their existing experience and knowledge, but with everything time back to origin? However, the deeper our commitments are put into the development and planning, we come to realize there are different problems rooted in all the NFT games, and we thought maybe we could make a difference!
The Problem
1) Pay To Win - The conventional MMORPG problem of veterans losing the competition to richer players with less skill, this will create fast growth of disparity between the poor and the rich
2) Overpopulated Pets/Characters - If there isn't a proper balancing mechanism, overpopulation will surely happen and weaker pet's value will eventually crash and leave no liquidity
3) Absence of player hierarchy - MOBA game has been a huge success as it provides enjoyment to all different hierarchy of players, players get to match with other players that are at the same range of capabilities
How To Earn In Monsta Infinite?
Gameplay
Since ancient times, no one has ever decoded the secrets to the formation of the universe, the mysteries of the beginning and the inevitable end.
Scientists of human civilization believe that a big bang from 13.8 billion years ago is the point in which the universe first began expanding, initiating the age of the universe; forming all the galaxies, stars, planets and the miracles of life. Among the planetary mass in our galaxy, are there any signs of life other than the lives on Earth? Perhaps on one of the moons of the “earth star” - Shani, with its resourceful fossil lands and gentle environmental conditions, it may be possible.
However, what humans did not know was that before the age of dinosaurs, there existed a mythical and ancient civilization on the Shani Planet, known as MONSTA.
MONSTA, is an enigmatic and peculiar species, nobody knows of their origins or who their creators were. They do not identify as either gender, and have lost the ability to fertilize for reproduction. Nevertheless, life has a great mission to create the next generation, to pass on its genetic legacy. Every being in the world is built to have natural survival instincts, struggling against their extinction. Thus, they attempted a variety of solutions, some exploited the resources of the planet for research, some blended with the energy of the elements, and some evolved through extreme conditions of the environment. In this period, the limits of life along with countless desperate experiments has devastated the racial population.
At the end of the darkest and longest descent towards extinction, they achieved an unthinkable success on biological experimentation. By fabricating a genetic fusion with the extraction of two MONSTA and their Stamen Tellus combined with the Critus Furnace, the first genetic clone of two INCEPTION MONSTA was produced. Ultimately, the remaining 4088 INCEPTION MONSTA decided to seal themselves, reminding their descendants to only awaken them when faced with a new crisis of destruction.
Synthesis
Monsta Classes
There will be 9 classes of Monsta from 3 moon nations. Each of them have their respective class endowment and are categorized as either STR, AGI or INT. Each category affects the attribute of the Monsta too.
In addition to the class, each Monsta are made up of 6 different parts, identified by its head, face, body, tail, arms and legs.
Cloning
Monsta from the Shani Planet has no reproductive system like humankind. In order to reproduce, the genes of the two Monstas has to be fused in a Critus Furnace to undergo Synthesis Cloning with the help of Stamen Tellus.
Stamen Tellus Token ($STT)
$STT is the in game currency of Monsta Infinite, it can be earned through battling and world gameplay. It is required for Synthesis Cloning and can be used to buy cosmetics that carry no attribute.
Synthesis Cloning a Monsta costs $STT depending on how many times the Monsta has been cloned, there is a maximum amount of times a Monsta can be cloned.

Battling

Turn Based Card Battle System
Each Monsta team requires exactly 3 Monstas. Each Monsta have 6 card skills, 2 attack cards, and 2 defend cards. During a battle, players can choose from 5 cards in a randomly shuffled fashion. The player must drag the card to the designated target to apply it to an ally or an enemy. After each round, the player has 5 seconds to perform orbs dragging on the match three puzzle system. If the orbs matched are the respective class' color orb, then their skills can be enhanced. HP and MP orbs are special orb that recover Monsta's HP and MP.
Battle initiative is decided from the difference in AGI and INT, which will determine the turn for each Monsta. Certain cards can affect the battle sequence and deny your opponents from making a move, which makes the battle more dynamic and test your wits!
Match-Three Puzzle System
Inspired by Puzzle & Dragons, There are five color orbs which each of the color orb representing a class or an attribute (Cyborg, Elf, Orc, HP recovery and MP recovery). The player has to drag an orb to adjacent positions, swapping with the orb already there. So long as the player does not let go of the orb, the player can move the orb as much as necessary within 5 seconds, allowing them to arrange for several combos in a single turn. After completing this, all matched orbs are removed from the board. The board then cascades all orbs down and fills the board up once more; this may result in more combos, known as "skyfall combos".
The intention of adding match three puzzle system is to solve the pay to win problem in most MMORPG game. Such system will give competitive player an advantage over their opponents. Monsta Infinite wish to make a balance on how Time, Money and Skill affects the gameplay.
Matchmaking and Rank
Matchmaking will be based on a system by Arpad Elo, a physics professor that came out with Elo rating system that considers various number of factors such as rank, recent match results, skill level of player, attribute of Monstas, etc. Such system would allow players to match-make with other players that has similar overall capabilities, this would promote gaming enjoyment and players could earn in game currency $STT much easier.
Open World
Players can own assets and purchase land to place their assets. Assets must be crafted from materials collected throughout the world map.
Crafting Recipes
Assets will have their predefined functionality in the game for various activities, but recipes are needed to customize their looks. It adds an aesthetic layer on top of existing assets, which can be customized to your desires within the allowed constraints. Players can design their in-game dream land and share recipes with one another!
Adding recipes to objects will increase the material costs, depending on the colors and shapes used in the design. Artists can also sell their designs in the marketplace for other players to use in crafting, allowing players to choose from a variety of themes to decorate their land.

Players can give permission to other players to cooperate and contribute assets to their land, allowing others to build together.
Hosting Events
Players are allowed to invite others to their land and host a variety of events. The host can initiate party games and social activities in their respective land. The host can choose to give a personal reward to the winner to make the games more competitive and fun, attracting more players to their land. Popular attractions may be featured!
Monsta Population & Long-term Sustainability
Monsta Infinite is a platform that combines virtual gaming with the reality of the market. In the past, game assets owned by players do not represent ownership and does not carry any intrinsic value in the real world. Often, the end of a game project causes all player-invested time and money to be lost. Even for valuable in-game items once sought after by players will become worthless after the company collapses or changes direction as the existance of game assets do not continue outside of the game. When players want to admire and commemorate their collections, nothing will be left besides some memories and photos of the past.

Anti-Cheat
There are a few common ways that malicious players can abuse the game which potentially undermines the passion of other community members for their own profit.
Tampering
The first way is to use a modified or tampered client to load the game. This can be controlled by having a central authority server that acts as a referee between players during a match. A variety of ways can be used to bypass the system, but detection is possible.
We are looking at methods of verifying the results of the game and match three puzzle solving using a variety of methods and algorithms. One of the most interesting solution proposed was to bring in an integration with Cartesi Machines. Recently, they have published a proof-of-concept involving a poker game that involves emulating the actions of the player from client side and to replay it in a Cartesi Machine or "Descartes" validator to determine an attempt at cheating. This may bring us closer to a solution for fighting against cheaters, provided that Cartesi goes in line with our plans, as their product remains in an early stage.
Bots
Another concern is the deployment of automatic farming bots, which in our opinion, defeats the purpose of the game and removes the fun from it. While we have massive plans to generate random and exciting battle experiences that are very difficult to automate against, it is definitely not an impossible task.
Using the match-three puzzle system, we plan to develop and improve it into a natural form of CAPTCHA algorithm which makes it harder for bots to solve. This will bring massive disadvantages to bots during battles.
