League of Ancients Reveals Anantarupa Studios as Official Game

Development Partner

League of Ancients is now powered by Anantarupa Studios

A new alliance is formed!

We are burning with excitement as our momentum builds up and goes full speed ahead towards the launch of the first ever crypto MOBA 5v5 game in the world thus far.

After a whole week of hinting across all our channels and a challenge to guess our latest partnership, there have been countless speculations and theories about the identity of our latest partner. We are glad that everyone is excited — trust us, we are as exhilarated as you are!

So without further ado, we proudly unveil our first ever game development partner: Anantarupa Studios!

Anantarupa Studios: A MOBA industry veteran

In case you haven’t heard, Anantarupa Studios is a ground-breaking Jakarta-based game development studio founded in 2011. The team boasts an impressive portfolio that spans AR, VR, custom games, and more.

The jewel in their crown is undoubtedly Lokapala: Saga of the Six Realms, which is the first ever MOBA esports title from Indonesia. In an unusual twist, the 5v5 MOBA title’s art direction was inspired by Indonesian mythology, history, and culture, infusing a breath of fresh air into a genre loved by over 250 million players across the globe.

After countless proposals with potential candidates, there was just one that stood out. We are ecstatic with our choice of having Anantarupa Studios onboard as our official game development partner due to their familiarity with the SEA region, which is ripe with potential for the crypto MOBA genre. We decided to target this region for our initial game launch due to its extremely large mobile player base, as well as its overwhelming support of the play-to-earn concept, as evidenced by the hundreds of thousands of players who have embraced Axie Infinity as a significant source of income.
Revolutionising the MOBA game industry

When we first started this project, we envisioned presenting a never-before-seen crypto MOBA 5v5 game that would revolutionise the theory of #freetoplay and #playtoearn — a goal we all strive to tirelessly attain.

Through our partnership with Anantarupa Studios, we have created a gaming alliance that unites both communities and features more exciting ways to engage with MOBA players worldwide. We are truly honored to be collaborating with such a talented game development team.

Together, we aim to build the next League of Legends or Mobile Legends on the blockchain — a ground-breaking free-to-play and play-to-earn gaming experience built for, and most importantly, owned by the players.

Existing MOBA titles are exceedingly popular but have one glaring problem — the majority of players typically spend inordinate amounts of time and money on the game, but have nothing tangible to show at the end of it except a shiny medal (and that’s only if the player is good at the game — if you’re a noob, well uh, too bad).

Thus, League of Ancients aims to end the practice of fruitless grinding, and put the power back into players’ hands by rewarding them for playing the game they love.

In accordance with the true nature of the blockchain, League of Ancients was designed to have a decentralised economy, which means that all assets bought, earned, and obtained inside League of Ancients fully belong to the player, and not us, the developers. This means that the NFT skins and other in-game items can be bought, sold, and traded at any time for cryptocurrency on Web 3.0 marketplaces, thus allowing players to gain tangible, real-world value from playing League of Ancients.

Ultimately, League of Ancients will be the world’s first ever free-to-play and play-to-earn GameFi project on the BNB Chain — if that isn’t revolutionary, we don’t know what is.

Streamlining and expediting game development

As a Web 3.0 company, having a professional game studio behind us means that can build upon an existing and proven game engine, thus saving us up to a whopping 3 YEARS of typical game development time. This is our secret to launching such an ambitious game within a short time period and with a relatively lean development team.

In addition, Anantarupa Studios’ experience in keeping Lokapala fresh and relevant in the MOBA arena means that balancing and bug fixes will be much more efficient on our end.

With Anantarupa Studios taking care of the game development aspect of League of Ancients, our team’s bandwidth has been greatly freed up to focus more on the crypto-related aspects of the game, as well as expedite esports integration to promote League of Ancients as a mainstream competitive title in the near future.

If you’re wondering if things may change with our new partnership, fret not — the League of Ancients team is still spearheading the creative direction and Web 3.0 integration of the game. We are thankful for our community’s passion and enthusiasm for everything LOA-related, and we can assure you that we, the team and our partner, Anantarupa Studios, is matching that same dedication whilst counting down the clock to the launch.

In fact, we cannot wait to show you the progress we’ve already made, and we are glad to announce that we will be unveiling the first look at never-before-seen game development progress during our AMA session scheduled for 20th March at 8pm UTC+8!

We’re proud to say that nothing like this has ever been done before in the crypto space — not this extent, at least. Together, we expect to see an exceptional game launch by Q4 2022!

The countdown has begun

With this announcement, LOA’s hard work will come to fruition, with us being able to leverage off an experienced partner like Anantarupa Studios. We are just as impatient as you to see this project brought to life, and have spent the requisite amount of money and time ensuring that it is in good hands.

We are also glad that our community is extremely eager to see the game launch, especially after the great amount of hype following our TGE last December. To this, we’d like to say that creating a quality game is not something that happens overnight, nor is it a linear process where you’ll see the same amount of progress every week.

The game development process is akin to building a house. Digging up the ground and laying a solid foundation is an absolutely crucial part of the house-building process, although it may look like nothing is going on above-ground for a long period of time.

Similarly, the early stages of game development is absolutely crucial to ensuring the stability of the game further down the road. Creating our first hero may have taken months, but once that blueprint is perfected, we can use it to create subsequent heroes with much less effort.

(Yes, that means we can finally say goodbye to League of Leon Fist, and welcome our second hero of the month very soon *phew*)

So sit tight, be patient, and prepare to enjoy all of the other cool things that we’re rolling out for you — and there will be so much more to show in the coming months!

And while everyone’s waiting for the game launch, why not stock up your inventory as well?
A treat while we wait: The final NFT presale!

In conjunction with this long-awaited partnership announcement, we will be announcing our final public NFT Skin presale very soon!

While the prices will be higher than our previous presales (so as not to shortchange our earlier investors), it is still a fantastic opportunity to grab the last few NFT skins available before the official launch of our NFT Marketplace.

Once the skins are sold out, the prices will be at the mercy of supply and demand on the Marketplace, so we highly recommend not missing out on the final presale! In the last round, 95% of our inventory had already been cleared out, so this will be your last chance to grab these limited edition NFT skins.

“Why is it so important to own an NFT skin if League of Ancients is free to start?”

Well, how does “pushing your play-to-earn potential even further” sound? To find out more about our NFT utilities, check out the #nft-skins channel or chat with one of our friendly mods in our Discord server!

“Okay, now I want a skin too, but when is the presale happening?”

Don’t worry, just follow us on our social media channels and stay tuned for the official announcement! Thank you for staying with us through this wild ride — we hope to see you in the Ancient Realm very soon!
